It's simple to transfer music to a Memory Stick with music management software like "Media Manager for PSP™" or "SonicStage."

CD > PS3™ > Memory Stick

  1. Insert a CD into the PS3™ disc slot.
  2. Select [Music] from the PS3™ XMB (XrossMediaBar).
  3. Select [Audio CD] and press the Δ button.
  4. Select [Import] from the option menu to import music data onto the hard disk drive*. 
    • * The default codec is [AAC] and the default bit rate is [128 kbps].
    • * The PS3™ automatically connects to the internet and obtain CD information when inserting a music CD.
PS3™ with Memory Stick Slot
  1. Select the imported music file and press the Δ button.
  2. Select [Copy] , and then [Memory Stick] as the copy destination.
  3. The selected music file is copied in the Memory Stick [MUSIC] folder.
PS3™ without Memory Stick Slot
  1. Connect PSP™ via a USB cable and select [USB Connection].
  2. Select the imported music file and press the Δ button.
  3. Select [Copy], and then [PSP™] as the copy destination.
  4. The selected music file is copied in the Memory Stick [MUSIC] folder*.

    * PSP™ supports playback of content stored in the [MUSIC] folder at the root level of the Memory Stick from system software version 2.80 or later. We recommend you to update to the latest version.
