Usable media are Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo, Memory Stick PRO Duo media and Memory Stick Duo media with MagicGate content protection technology.
* PSP™ system software needs to be update to version 2.00 or later to play music files recorded on Memory Stick PRO Duo media in the ATRAC3plus (including ATRAC3) format.
* The PSP™ system's Memory Stick media slot is compatible with Duo-size media. Standard-size media cannot be used.
* Recording time varies depending on the media capacity and bit rate. For more details, click here.
* When Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo media is used with a Memory Stick PRO compatible device, the media works as Memory Stick PRO media.
Software such as the following can be used to import ATRAC3plus (including ATRAC3) and MP3 format music files to Memory Stick media.
- SonicStage
- If you wish to use SonicStage, it is necessary to purchase the Sony "MSAC-US30" or "MSAC-US40" MagicGate compatible Memory Stick USB Reader/Writer. The "MSAC-US30" supplied with SonicStage ver. 1.5 and the "MSAC-US40" with SonicStage ver. 4.3. A free update service from ver. 1.5 to ver. 4.3 is available.

To enjoy music recorded in the ATRAC3plus (including ATRAC3) format, it is required to use a computer with a MagicGate-compatible Memory Stick media slot. If your PC does not have that type of media slot, a MagicGate compatible Memory Stick USB reader/writer such as the Sony "MSAC-US30"*1 or "MSAC-US40"*1 is required.
